Opening hours and places

We are a lovely family friendly village preschool on the site of Manley Village School. We accept children from the age of 2 and they usually stay with us until they start school at 4. We offer govenment funded places as well as fully paid for places.

Our curriculum

At preschool we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidlines on how we operate and provide learning activities for the children based on this. We also use the Development Matters document to ensure the children are offered a rich and varied curriculum.

We have a large main room that provides a range of areas to help your child develop in all areas. This main room holds a hive of activities ranging from messy arts and crafts, small world play, homecorner, construction area, writing area and book corner for enjoying stories. Different activities are provided every day to help the children settle into the environment and begin their road to learning through discovery. We base many of the activities on the children’s interests and their individual next steps in learning and also focus on different national holidays, festivals and celebrations. We are lucky to have a covered area, a bike/car track and a large grassed area that we regulary use for a range of activities whilst enjoying the fresh air.

We do a range of group times including circle time on a range of topics including litreracy and numeracy skills, music and movement – expoloring a range of songs, instruments and movements and story times. These group times support children’s listening skills as well as teaching awareness of turn taking and listening to others views and opinions.
